20 to 20



Our 2nd Annual LYNCHBURG DANCE CONNECTION SHOWCASE will feature over 200 dancers, studios, teams, and dance crews in the Central Virginia area. The LDC Showcase aims to unify the Lynchburg dance community and it’s surrounding areas. Each year, dancers in the community compete against one another, so we are continuing to encourage a positive environment binding together what makes each group unique with zero competition.


This year’s showcase theme is “20 to 20”!  From the Roaring 20’s to 2020, this showcase will highlight, celebrate, and educate where we have been, where we are, and our hope for the future. Enjoy performances representing different decades (30s, 40s, 50s, etc.), events movements, styles of dance (Lindy Hop, Swing), movies, artists, and trends that each group has chosen to portray. We will be handing out scholarships for classes, workshops, and camps donated by studios and dance groups in the area as well as cash scholarships to graduating high school and college senior performers and acknowledging the participating dance influencers, educators, and creators.

This year we have five LDC routines included in the program which combine dancers from Dancing with Theo, Forest Dance Academy, Central Virginia Ballet, Red Shoes Dance Academy, D-trex Dance Crew, Seven Hills Dance Studio, Liberty Flamettes, Rustburg High School Dance Team, LCA Pom, Jeffereson Forest Dance Team, Masterworx, The Kyla Hull Gift of Dance Scholarship, ASOD Dance Team, and Peacemakers Crew.

Know Before You Go:


Age Requirement

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for this performance unless otherwise stated. All ages are welcome.

Camera Policy

Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.

Content Advisory

The Academy Center of the Arts offers a diverse selection of entertainment. Not all productions may appeal to or be appropriate for every guest or for all ages. Ticket buyers should take responsibility for making informed decisions regarding their purchases. We recommend visiting the official show website of each show you are coming to see at the Academy. Our lobby doors open 60 minutes prior to show time.

Inclement Weather

All indoor performances scheduled at the Academy Center of the Arts normally take place as planned unless otherwise stated.


Parking is available on-site and throughout downtown Lynchburg. The parking map above shows all of the free public and paid parking available. In addition, street parking is also available on most streets.

Please note: If attending an event or performance after 5pm or on weekends, Lot 2 (Pacific Life Lot) and Lot 12 (Regional Business Alliance) are free and open to for public use. We suggest utilizing these lots, which are closest to the Academy Center of the Arts and within walking distance.

Ticket Policies

All ticket sales are final. There will be NO REFUNDS or exchanges for purchased tickets.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Our delivery methods are as follows:

Will Call: Tickets will be held at “will call” at the Box Office up to one hour before the show.

Print at Home: This option allows you to print your tickets at home or access them on a mobile device via email.

Regular Mail: For an additional fee, your tickets will be mailed to you ahead of the event.

Box Office Pick Up: You may stop by our Box Office, Monday through Thursday, 10:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 12:00pm – 8:00pm, or Saturday 12:00pm – 4:00pm and have us print your tickets for you.

Tickets held at “will call” that are not picked up by the beginning of the show may be re-sold at the discretion of the Box Office staff.

All tickets for this show will be sold through academycenter.org and our ticketing system. Please do not use third-party resellers, as we do not contract with them. Should you use a reseller, the Academy Center of the Arts will not be liable for any issues with your purchase.

All ticket sales are subject to a Historic Theatre Restoration Fee and credit/debit card processing fees.
