Students will get an introduction to alcoholic inks on yupo and other non absorbent surfaces.
Friday will focus on manipulating the pigment with brushes, air, alcohol, or “mixative” media.
Saturday will focus on drawing biomorphic shapes and patterns that are truly abstract but will appear like parts of micoscopical images from plants, fungi, cells, or animals.

Instructor: Jurgen Ziesmann
Jurgen Ziesmann was born in Germany, and grew up in the tiny farming village of Hundheim. He graduated from the University of Bayreuth in Germany, with a doctorate in natural science. He worked as a biologist in Germany, England, New Zealand, and taught at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles where he also took art classes. Ziesmann is now a biology professor at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va.
