Lynchburg, Virginia’s premier Grateful Dead Tribute Band takes the Warehouse Theatre stage on Saturday, April 17, 2021 for a limited-capacity concert with distanced seating! Enhanced safety measures and protocols are in place, including contactless digital ticketing, face covering requirements, and mobile ordering for concessions. Tickets go on sale beginning Monday, March 8, 2021 at 12:00pm for Academy Members. Remaining tickets will be on sale starting Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the venue Box Office or online at academycenter.org.

ABOUT BIGFOOT COUNTY

 

Tackling the psychedelic virtuosity of what is arguably rock ‘n’ roll’s most celebrated and influential jam band is a mountain some musicians would rather not climb.

 

But for the members of Lynchburg’s Bigfoot County, a Grateful Dead tribute band with a fan base that continues to grow each time they play, paying homage to their heroes is something the band takes on with enthusiasm and pride.

 

“We all love the [Grateful] Dead, and we don’t want to do it a disservice by going out and sounding like crap,” says guitarist Drew White. “We’re, like, going into somebody’s house and house-sitting. We don’t want to break anything while they’re gone.”

Taking their name from a lyric in the Grateful Dead song “Brown-Eyed Women” (“Tumble down shack in Bigfoot County/Snowed so hard that the roof caved in”), the group hoped to set the tone by pick-ing something different from the other tribute bands out there.

White says a couple of other groups have popped up with the same name, but he figures it just comes with the territory.

“The way we kind of look at is, we’re all sharing the music of the Grateful Dead so why not share names, too,” he says.

Warehouse COVID-19 Social Distancing Measures:

 

  • Initial shows will be seated, with tables sold in “Table for Four” configurations only. Only 37 “Tables for Four” will be available each performance at this time
  • Tables will be positioned 6’ apart, with the front row of tables 10’ from the stage
  • Tables will not be permitted to be split into smaller configurations and/or resold. Patrons holding resold tickets will be denied entry and refunds will not be offered
  • All patrons in your “Table for Four” pod must arrive together to be seated. An arrival time is displayed on your PDF ticket, emailed to the primary ticket buyer as an attachment to their order confirmation.
  • No will call available. All ticket-holding patrons must bring print-at-home ticket or show their ticket on their mobile phones for scanning
  • Patrons must wear masks at all times while inside the venue, with exception to eating or drinking when at your purchased table
  • Patrons will be required to remain seated at their purchased table upon entry, unless getting up to leave or use restrooms
  • Concessions will be sold through table side service using our Noble Concessions App; i.e.: no lining up at the bar
  • Venue security will enforce ground rules, which will follow current CDC and State of Virginia guidelines for indoor events

Table for Four Advanced Tickets: $80.00 plus taxes and fees

Table for Four Day of Show Tickets: $100.00 plus taxes and fees

 

Tables with seating for groups of up to four (4) guests will be sold for this event. Tables will not be permitted to be split into smaller configurations and/or resold. Patrons holding resold tickets will be denied entry and refunds will not be offered.

Age Requirement

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for this performance unless otherwise stated. All ages are welcome.

Camera Policy

Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.

Doors Open

Our lobby doors open 60 minutes prior to show time. House doors open 30 minutes prior to show time for seating. Special times may be listed on your tickets.

All indoor performances scheduled at the Academy Center of the Arts normally take place as planned unless otherwise stated.

Parking

Parking is available on-site and throughout downtown Lynchburg. The parking map above shows all of the free public and paid parking available. In addition, street parking is also available on most streets.

Please note: If attending an event or performance after 5pm or on weekends, the Lynchburg Grand Hotel parking deck, Lot 2 (Pacific Life Lot) and Lot 12 (Regional Business Alliance) are free and open to for public use. We suggest utilizing these lots, which are closest to the Academy Center of the Arts and within walking distance.

Ticket Policies

All ticket sales are final. There will be NO REFUNDS or exchanges for purchased tickets.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Our delivery methods are as follows:

Print at Home: This option allows you to print your tickets at home or access them on a mobile device via email.

All tickets for this show will be sold through academycenter.org and our ticketing system. Please do not use third-party resellers, as we do not contract with them. Should you use a reseller, the Academy Center of the Arts will not be liable for any issues with your purchase.

All ticket sales are subject to a Historic Theatre Restoration Fee and credit/debit card processing fees.
