BRIAN SETZER FORCED TO CANCEL PERFORMANCE IN LYNCHBURG, VA DUE TO INJURY

 

Under doctor’s orders, iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and three-time Grammy-Award winner Brian Setzer has been forced to cancel his 16th annual “Christmas Rocks! Tour” by The Brian Setzer Orchestra due to a severe case of tinnitus. This includes his November 23, 2019 performance at the Academy Center of the Arts’ Historic Academy Theatre in Lynchburg, VA.

 

The over 20-city annual and critically acclaimed holiday extravaganza by SETZER and 19-piece ORCHESTRA was his best-selling Christmas tour to date and set to start this week, running from November 15 in Minneapolis through December 21 in Los Angeles.

 

Setzer says he deeply regrets this inconvenience to his fans and thanks them in advance for their love and support.

 

“It’s heartbreaking to disappoint my fans who have shared my Christmas seasons with me for over fifteen years,” says SETZER. “I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused all of the amazing people who make my tour happen and to my unbelievably loyal and devoted fans.  I hate to let you down and I hope you’ll understand.”

 

Box Office staff at the Academy Center of the Arts will refund tickets at the point of purchase. Patrons purchasing with credit cards will be refunded to the card used. Patrons purchasing with cash or check will be contacted by Box Office staff within five (5) business days to arrange a refund.

 

“We are, of course, disappointed that the performance has to be canceled, but we wish Brian Setzer a speedy recovery,” said Corey Wilson, Programming Manager. “Thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets for this event and for supporting the Academy Center of the Arts through our programming. We apologize for this inconvenience and will work to refund patrons in a timely manner.”

Age Requirement

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for this performance unless otherwise stated. All ages are welcome.

Camera Policy

Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.

Inclement Weather

All indoor performances scheduled at the Academy Center of the Arts normally take place as planned unless otherwise stated.

Parking

Parking is available on-site and throughout downtown Lynchburg. The parking map above shows all of the free public and paid parking available. In addition, street parking is also available on most streets.

Please note: If attending an event or performance after 5pm or on weekends, Lot 2 (Pacific Life Lot) and Lot 12 (Regional Business Alliance) are free and open to for public use. We suggest utilizing these lots, which are closest to the Academy Center of the Arts and within walking distance.

Ticket Policies

All ticket sales are final. There will be NO REFUNDS or exchanges for purchased tickets.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Our delivery methods are as follows:

Will Call: Tickets will be held at “will call” at the Box Office up to one hour before the show.

Print at Home: This option allows you to print your tickets at home or access them on a mobile device via email.

Regular Mail: For an additional fee, your tickets will be mailed to you ahead of the event.

Box Office Pick Up: You may stop by our Box Office, Monday through Thursday, 10:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 12:00pm – 8:00pm, or Saturday 12:00pm – 4:00pm and have us print your tickets for you.

Tickets held at “will call” that are not picked up by the beginning of the show may be re-sold at the discretion of the Box Office staff.

All tickets for this show will be sold through academycenter.org and our ticketing system. Please do not use third-party resellers, as we do not contract with them. Should you use a reseller, the Academy Center of the Arts will not be liable for any issues with your purchase.

All ticket sales are subject to a Historic Theatre Restoration Fee and credit/debit card processing fees.
