High School and College students who love all things Broadway, this week is for you! Join us for a weeklong theatre intensive where you will study from actors Tommy Bracco and Mary Catherine Garrison.  Students will study dance, acting and music throughout the week and they will learn specific auditioning techniques that they will then apply in a mock audition setting.

About Tommy Bracco:

 

Tommy was born, raised and currently resides in Staten Island New York. After graduating from LaGuardia High School (The Fame School!) in 2008, Tommy jumped right into the world of auditioning. Since then, Tommy has traveled all across the country performing. Film: Newsies The Musical, Fourth Man Out. Theatre: Newsies (Original Bway Cast), The Hairy Ape (Park Armory Theatre), Beauty And The Beast (National Tour), The Pirates Of Penzance (Barrington Stage), Grease (Papermill Playhouse), Guys And Dolls (Barrington Stage). Tommy recently played the role of Giulio in the world premiere of Pretty Woman The Musical. He will be reprising the role when the show opens this summer on Broadway.

 

As a teacher and choreographer, Tommy has worked in the drama program at LaGuardia HS and at Star Struck Dance Studio. Additionally has traveled the country teaching with YPA and Broadway Workshop. He also choreographed the acclaimed production of Rent at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Tommy is thrilled to work with Academy Center of the Arts!

About Mary Catherine Garrison:

 

Mary Catherine Garrison is originally from the New Orleans area where she attended New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in their high school theater program, before then going to college at The University of Evansville as a theater major. After that she attended The University of California at San Diego as a graduate student, earning a Masters in Acting. She went on to star on Broadway in many different shows including Stephen Sondheim’s ASSASSINS, David Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer Prize winning RABBIT HOLE where she originated the role of Izzy, TOP GIRLS with Martha Plimpton, ACCENT ON YOUTH opposite David Hyde Pierce, and LEND ME A TENOR directed by Stanley Tucci, as well as multiple tv and film roles.

 

She can currently be seen on HBO’s VEEP and in the upcoming film THE LAND OF STEADY HABITS directed by Nicole Holofcener.
