Students will go from auditions to performance in just five days with Compass Creative Dramatics, a Chicago-based touring theatre who will be hosting a week-long theatre residency at the Academy. Students in grades 1 – 12 will stretch their creativity and bravery muscles through daily rehearsals. Students also perform alongside two professional actors during the week and will participate in acting classes from those directors in the afternoon! No acting experience necessary – just come ready to be silly and have fun! This camp will be rehearsing and performing in our Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre. Students participating in this camp must be available the entire week and for both performances.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

After a terrible twister roars across the dusty fields of her beloved Kansas, accidental traveler Dorothy Gale finds herself immersed in an unlikely tangle of friends and foes on her way to meet the mysterious Wizard in the Emerald City. As Dorothy and her ever-growing roster of travel companions follow the Yellow Brick Road, she discovers that sometimes it’s not about the journey itself, but the friends you make along the way.
