The second annual “Design on Stage” will feature celebrated interior designer Meg Braff and Steele Marcoux, Style Director of Country Living magazine as its speakers.

 

Doors will open at 11:00am. Braff and Marcoux will take the stage at noon on Thursday, March 8 in the Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre, accompanied by a seated box lunch and wine.

 

The guest speakers will share advice on the use of color and pattern, while they explore many of the beautiful rooms from their portfolios. A signing of Braff’s book The Decorated Home: Living with Style and Joy will follow lunch.

 

Tickets for “Design on Stage” will be available for advance purchase through the Academy in January for $75, and will increase to $85 after March 5, 2018. Tickets will not be sold on the day of the event.

ABOUT MEG BRAFF:
 
Academy Center of the ArtsMeg Braff embarked on her interior design career after attending Vanderbilt University and the prestigious Parsons School of Design. Beginning as an associate at Ellen McCloskey Associates, she later worked with Jeff Lincoln before launching her eponymous firm in 1994. Known for her exuberant, youthful take on traditional design, Meg creates livable spaces imbued with playful glamour and a modern perspective. Her sophisticated color sense, curatorial eye, and deft ability to mix antique and modern pieces has broad appeal, evidenced by residential commissions throughout the East Coast and the Caribbean.
In 2011 she acquired the Philip Graf archive, and began updating and recoloring his playful wallpaper patterns. She also opened a shop, Meg Braff Antiques & Decoration, located in the heart of Locust Valley, NY. Meg emboldens her rooms with charisma and individuality, while taking heed to her clients preferences and lifestyles. The result is layered, deeply personal spaces, the ideal setting for gracious living and celebrations with friends and family.
 
A native of Tupelo, Mississippi, Meg is married to Douglas Braff and is the mother of four boys. When she is not traveling for clients she crisscrosses the country to cheer on her boys at squash competitions; she also sits on the boards of The Bone Marrow Foundation and The Decorator’s Club. Her work has been appeared in House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Coastal Living, Southern Living, and Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, among others. Her first book, The Decorated Home: Living with Style and Joy, was published by Rizzoli in April 2017.
 
ABOUT STEELE MARCOUX:
 
Academy Center of the ArtsSteele Marcoux is the Style Director of Country Living magazine, a past editor of Coastal Living, and co-lead for the Time Inc digital home desk. Under her leadership, the brands have been awarded numerous accolades for editorial excellence, and has experienced significant audience growth.
 
Steele has 15 years of editorial experience across all platforms. Prior to returning to Time Inc and Coastal Living in 2015, she served as Executive Editor at Country Living. Before that, she was the Design Editor at Southern Living in 2013 and held similar positions at Coastal Living and Cottage Living from 2006-2012. She has worked as a freelance writer, editor and producer for a number of other titles, including HGTV Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens and more..
 
Steele is from Atlanta, where she attended the Westminster Schools. After graduating from Williams College, she worked as a reporter in Washington, DC for three years before returning to the south to pursue a master’s degree in American History at the University of Alabama. Steele lives in Birmingham, AL with her husband, two sons, and her dog

All ticket sales are final. There will be NO REFUNDS or exchanges for purchased tickets.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Our delivery methods are as follows:

Print at home: This option allows you print your tickets at home or access them on a mobile device via email.

Regular Mail: For an additional fee, your tickets will be mailed to you ahead of the event.

Box Office: You may stop by our Box Office, Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm, and have us print your tickets for you.

All tickets for this show will be sold through academycenter.org and our ticketing system. Please do not use third-party resellers, as we do not contract with them. Should you use a reseller, the Academy Center of the Arts will not be liable for any issues with your purchase.
