This class in an introduction to the fundamentals of drawing with an emphasis on representational drawing. Students will gain an understanding of the basic principles of drawing and build confidence. A variety of mediums and techniques will be explored, and experimentation encouraged. Subject matter will be varied depending on student’s interests. Most importantly, we will have fun!
Instructor: Brooke Marcy
Brooke Marcy has an A.B. in Studio Art from Hamilton College, a post-baccalaureate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a MFA in painting from George Mason University. She has worked for the Museum of Modern Art and Art Capital Group in New York City. She currently teaches drawing, painting and printmaking at University of Lynchburg and has taught at George Mason University and Randolph College. She is the curator of Riverviews Artspace and was the Visiting Curator of the Legacy Museum. She has exhibited and is represented in collections nationally and internationally.
