Academy Mask Policy – Fall 2021
Any student under the age of 18 will be required to wear a mask for the duration of their camp/class. For any participant age 18+, masks are highly recommended and encouraged regardless of vaccination status.
This class will introduce the students to the fundamentals of drawing, including light & shadow, shape, design and composition. Students will also be introduced to the tools of the trade, including learning the pencil scale and different types of paper, such as archival and acid papers and the differences between the two.
This class is suitable for beginner to advanced students as the lessons and projects will be geared toward individual skill and interest levels. Because each student is unique, projects may be altered and one-on-one instruction will be given to suit each student’s skills, talents, knowledge, and interest level.
Students that have advanced skills or have mastered the basic fundamentals will be encouraged to develop their style and technique in the media. Instructor will guide and suggest new techniques and styles to help develop the student’s skills. All supplies provided.

Instructor Kelli Seagle
Kelli Seagle is an Amherst County Native, and has lived in Amherst for most of her life. She has two children who are the light of her life. Kelli graduated in May, 2020 from University of Lynchburg with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a minor in Education and has been blessed with a position as an Art Teacher at Appomattox Middle School. She is currently a member of the Lynchburg Art Club as well as the 7 Hills Art Club. Kelli is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking Virginia’s many beautiful trails and spends any time not making art working in her yard and spending time with her kids.
