The Figure Drawing Workshop is a workshop for any artist wishing to improve drawing skills or to become more figurative in their art.
While working with a live model we’ll study:
- gesture – to express action, appearance, proportion & space.
- perspective – to enhance the figure’s 3 dimensional aspect.
- canon of the figure – for correct anatomy.
- musculature & skeletal studies – to understand what’s below the surface.
Note: the model will be clothed in flowing and tight garments. The poses will be short at the beginning working up to longer poses.

Instructor : Kenny Weinfurtner
Kenneth Weinfurtner holds a BFA in Studio Art and a BA in Art History from the University of Kentucky. He earned an MFA in Studio Art from Radford University. Mr. Weinfurtner currently teaches art at the Lynchburg Academy Center of the Arts. His art studio, PennyStone Studio, is located at his home in Madison Heights, VA.
