This class is for intermediate to advanced painters. If you want to continue building your skill set and developing your own style; this class is for you. Be a part of an art community while developing your own abilities. Emphasis is on choosing your own direction through individualized instruction and feedback from critiques. Please bring two samples of your work to the first class.

Instructor: Mike Twery
Michael Twery grew up in Lynchburg,Va. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the San Francisco Art Institute, where he received his BFA & MFA degrees in Painting. Michael has worked as an artist-in-residence and art instructor for over 35 years, exhibited work for over 45 years. He currently works out of his studio in Lynchburg. Michael has exhibited his art in both California and Virginia. He has shown at the Museum of Modern Art Rental Gallery, the Diego Rivera Gallery and St. Mary’s College in the San Francisco Bay area; and at the Maier Museum, Lynchburg College, Roanoke College, the University of Virginia, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, the Academy Center of the Arts, and many other local and regional galleries in Virginia. Michael has created art commissions for the City of Lynchburg, the Craddock-Terry Hotel, Coleman Adams Construction, Amazement Square Children’s Museum, Hardee’s Corporation, Forest Elementary School, Lynchburg City Schools, the Boys & Girls Club of Lynchburg, James River Day School, and several other institutions and private individuals.
