Academy Mask Policy – 2022
The Academy Center of the Arts strongly encourages that all students participating in our classes regardless of vaccination status wear a mask while on our campus.
In our class, we will take students through the process of constructing costume pieces for a production. Students can expect an overview of the basic principles of costume design for theater, film, and television, starting with an introduction on the basics of research, a tour of our very own costume shop, and beginner sewing lessons. Then we will put their knowledge into practice by making costume pieces for our summer youth camp show, Madagascar. Each student will get to experience the art of creating visual representations of characters through clothing construction.
All supplies will be included.
Instructor: Lindsay Patton
My name is Lindsay, and I have worked as a costume designer, wardrobe stylist, hair & makeup artist in theater and film for the past 6 years. After studying fashion in college, I fell in love with costume design during an internship. In the following years, I have been privileged to work on large and small projects from theater to film with teams of great people! I love encouraging students to pursue their dreams of creating art through costume design!
