This camp is a must for any student interested in what it takes to make the magic of theatre come alive on stage!

Instructors:

Christine Yepsen

Christine Yepsen has spent the past 22 years working in various aspects of theater. As a Set Designer, as a Stage Manager, and currently as Technical Director for Wolfbane Productions. Christine holds a BA in theatre production where she focused on stage management and design. Throughout her career she has designed sets and costumes for companies in Virginia and NYC, and was nominated for her mask designs at the Planet Connections Festival in NYC. Her most recent work in set design has all been through Wolfbane Productions, some of her most memorable being The Seafarer, The Rocky Horror Show, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Macbeth, and Foxfire.

Lindsay Patton

My name is Lindsay, and I have worked as a costume designer, wardrobe stylist, hair & makeup artist in theater and film for the past 6 years. After studying fashion in college, I fell in love with costume design during an internship. In the following years, I have been privileged to work on large and small projects from theater to film with teams of great people! I love encouraging students to pursue their dreams of creating art through costume design!

Emily Parker

Emily graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Theatre. She is most passionate about stage lighting, and worked mostly in lighting positions before her time at the Academy. She loves to design lighting for dance performances. She also loves cats.

Michael Chagnon

Michael has been working with the Academy on a contract basis since April of 2018, but came on board full time in October 2018. He has worked as an assistant technical director with Opera on the James since its 2014 production of La Bohème. He has also worked as a theatre technician at the Castleton Festival and Wolfbane Productions. Prior to his work in the theatre he toured the country for several years singing and playing guitar in a pop and rock band he co-founded.
