About the Show:
The Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra returns to live performance with a diverse program emphasizing the folk origins of many classical works.
Featuring a group of over 20 players from the LSO’s string section, this program will present folk-influenced music by Gustav Holst, Bela Bartok, and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. This program will also feature the music of two groundbreaking Black composers, Harry Burleigh and Duke Ellington, and a tribute to LSO charter member Jean H. Raas, with the music of Gustav Mahler.
