The LSO celebrates homegrown talent as Lynchburg native and E.C. Glass graduate Emily Rist Glover returns to perform the virtuosic Glazunov Violin Concerto. The wife of our new Music Director, David Glover, Emily is the acting assistant concertmaster with the prestigious Raleigh-based, North Carolina Symphony. In addition, the stars of tomorrow appear as the Lynchburg Youth Symphony Orchestra joins the LSO in a special side-by-side performance of Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture. Also performing will be Lynchburg based composer and pianist, Susan Morris, premiering new orchestral arrangements of her own compositions, and the concert concludes with the LSO providing orchestral fireworks in Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
