About the Show:


It’s been 15 years since the indie film Napoleon Dynamite came out of nowhere to become the sleeper hit of 2004. With some of the most quotable lines of any film in recent memory, this quirky cult comedy has had fans talking about ligers, tater tots, and voting for Pedro ever since. And, who could forget Napoleon’s sweet dance moves at the end?!


This unique event includes a full screening of Napoleon Dynamite in the Historic Academy Theatre on the BIG screen, followed by a lively, freewheeling, moderated discussion with fan-favorite cast members Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and Efren Ramirez (Pedro). “Napoleon Dynamite” (Jon Heder) comes from the rural town of Preston, Idaho. He is a new kind of hero with his red ‘fro, sweet moon boots, and stellar ninja moves. When Napoleon isn’t fighting with his brother Kip (Aaron Ruell), trying to avoid his conniving Uncle Rico (Jon Gries), or feeding his Grandma’s pet llama, he spends his time drawing magical creatures. After making two new friends, Deb (Tina Majorino) and Pedro (Efren Ramirez), it’s Napoleon’s job to get Pedro voted for class president by unleashing his secret weapon.

Age Requirement

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for this performance unless otherwise stated. All ages are welcome.

Camera Policy

Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.

Inclement Weather

All indoor performances scheduled at the Academy Center of the Arts normally take place as planned unless otherwise stated.


Parking is available on-site and throughout downtown Lynchburg. The parking map above shows all of the free public and paid parking available. In addition, street parking is also available on most streets.

Please note: If attending an event or performance after 5pm or on weekends, Lot 2 (Pacific Life Lot) and Lot 12 (Regional Business Alliance) are free and open to for public use. We suggest utilizing these lots, which are closest to the Academy Center of the Arts and within walking distance.

Ticket Policies

All ticket sales are final. There will be NO REFUNDS or exchanges for purchased tickets.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Our delivery methods are as follows:

Will Call: Tickets will be held at “will call” at the Box Office up to one hour before the show.

Print at Home: This option allows you to print your tickets at home or access them on a mobile device via email.

Regular Mail: For an additional fee, your tickets will be mailed to you ahead of the event.

Box Office Pick Up: You may stop by our Box Office, Monday through Thursday & Saturday from 10:00am – 4:00pm, or Friday   12:00pm – 8:00pm, and have us print your tickets for you.

Tickets held at “will call” that are not picked up by the beginning of the show may be re-sold at the discretion of the Box Office staff.

All tickets for this show will be sold through academycenter.org and our ticketing system. Please do not use third-party resellers, as we do not contract with them. Should you use a reseller, the Academy Center of the Arts will not be liable for any issues with your purchase.

All ticket sales are subject to a Historic Theatre Restoration Fee and credit/debit card processing fees.
