Opera on the James Presents:
With Voices Raised – An Afternoon of Opera and Song
Opera on the James celebrates the power of the human voice in a concert of life-enhancing music and vocal fireworks. Marco Nistico, the newly-appointed General Director of Opera on the James and Principal Conductor Peter Leonard have selected an exciting group of vocalists from across the country to perform a varied program of opera arias and beloved Broadway melodies.
Voices Raised – An Afternoon of Opera and Song is the opening event of an exciting 2019-2020 season which will include Menotti’s Amahl and the Night’s Visitors, in collaboration with Liberty University and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.
The performance will feature the Opera on the James Orchestra, the Choral Union, as well as a roster of distinguished guest artists: Tess Altiveros, Raquel Gonzales (returning after her success as Violetta last season), Hillary Ginther, Andrew Surrena, and Stefano de Peppo.
