Join Artist Steve Rogers from Florida for a unique opportunity to learn in his advanced watercolor workshop!
“I believe I can most honestly say what I want to with my brush and ‘juicy’ watercolor paint.” – Steve Rogers
Beginners and advanced painters alike will learn about light and color and the way watercolor behaves through “mini-demos” of paint application, “dealing with dark values in watercolor”, “secrets of painting reflections” etc. and how these operate in Steve’s full painting demonstrations. Students who are seeking to paint a convincing representation will advance substantially in his workshop, while those who wish to attain a higher degree of insight into their subjects will also be pleased. Lots of student painting time along with personal help is available every day.
In both value and color, Steve makes clear how the medium of watercolor with its unique transparency and range of color and value can make our vision of a landscape live on the paper. Steve is especially qualified in reflections and the unique problems associated with painting boats and water subjects, and in many cases students have not been exposed to some of the concepts. If time permits Steve will also cover the use of photography as both a way of gathering source material and also how to best photograph paintings for slide juries and other purposes.
The goal of Steve’s workshop is to encourage each artist to advance his or her own vision and to improve the skills necessary to communicate that in watercolor. Students will all learn a lot and have fun painting!
**Watercolor painting experience required.
