Join our instructor Brett Thomas as we explore the mysteries of Shino Glazes, fired in our gas reduction kiln. This is a two -part workshop: The first weekend, March 24 and March 25 will include a Friday night discussion on the properties of Shino glazes and the firing process and application of Shino glazes. Students are encouraged to make their work, whether it is wheel thrown or hand built and to share ideas and goals. Saturday, March 25 will be studio time from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm to create work.
Part II – second weekend: Thursday, April 27 – students will glaze their bisque fired work between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 pm; Kiln will be loaded Thursday night and will be fired on Friday, April 28 by Brett Thomas and Ted Batt. Sunday, April 20 – 11:00 a.m. sharp to 1:00 pm – Kiln will be unloaded and we will have a critique of student work!
