Community invited to celebrate kick-off for development of feature film to be shot in Lynchburg
Local film production company, Life Out Loud Films invites the community to celebrate and ‘kick-off‘ the development of SHOELESS WONDERS, a feature film based on the legendary local football team that is scheduled to shoot in Lynchburg in the Fall of 2017.
The event will take place at Lynchburg’s Academy Center of the Arts on August 17 at 7 p.m., with special guests of honor, New York Times bestselling Author David Baldacci and Former NFL and Virginia Tech Player Jake Grove.
The ‘kick-off’ will feature a special screening of one of Life Out Loud Films’ previous films, WISH YOU WELL, followed by a Q&A session with its Screenwriter/Producer David Baldacci and Producer Sara Elizabeth Timmins. WISH YOU WELL was shot in Giles County, Virginia and stars Ellen Burstyn, Josh Lucas, and Mackenzie Foy.
The SHOELESS WONDERS team will share more about the film and their plans to shoot in Lynchburg, their motto “don’t just make a film make a difference”, and opportunities for the community to get involved.
The film, inspired by real events at HumanKind (formally The Presbyterian Home & Family Services), is about a group of determined orphan boys that defy expectations and become the SHOELESS WONDERS, a legendary 1920’s Virginia barefoot football team that went undefeated and unscored upon for eight years.
Along with the film, SHOELESS WONDERS, the team plans to showcase the positive life skills learned through team sports and promote awareness for family service organizations along with foster care and adoption.
Tickets are open to the public at $10 each and can be purchased at: http://shoelesswonders.ivolunteer.com/kickoff. Seats are limited so advanced reservations are strongly recommended.
