Based on guidance from health authorities and government agencies, the Artist for this performance is implementing new safety measures. All patrons are required to wear masks inside the venue at all times except when consuming food or beverage in designated locations. Prolonged periods of mask removal are not permitted. All patrons will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination (second shot at least 14 days before the event) or take a COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours before the event and provide proof of negative result to door staff prior to entering the venue.
At least one form of COVID-19 vaccination proof or COVID-19 diagnostic negative test result must be presented in order to enter the theatre. If you cannot produce one of these requirements, we will take your name and issue a full refund on the Monday following the show.
Acceptable forms of COVID-19 vaccination proof are…
- Physical COVID-19 vaccination card.
- A picture on your phone or mobile device.
- Patrons can also log in to vdh.virginia.gov on their personal device to access their COVID vaccination record.
COVID-19 diagnostic negative test result…
- A dated COVID-19 diagnostic test must be taken 48 hours in advance at an appropriate testing site (CVS, Walgreens, etc.). No at-home tests accepted.

Join Cary Elwes (Westley) for a behind-the-scenes look at life on and off the set of the classic film, The Princess Bride. After a screening of the iconic movie, Elwes will engage in a moderated discussion revealing never before shared secrets and tales of inconceivable antics!
Journey back to the lands of Florin and Guilder in an adventure filled with fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, miracles, and of course, true love.
Elwes has been in a multitude of films and tv shows, including Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Saw, Twister, Liar, Liar, Stranger Things, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He recently finished starring in an Untitled Guy Ritchie Film for Miramax and Mission Impossible 7. Now, Elwes is hitting the road to share with fans the personal stories behind the making of this piece of cinematic history.

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for this performance unless otherwise stated. All ages are welcome.
Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.
The Academy Center of the Arts offers a diverse selection of entertainment. Not all productions may appeal to or be appropriate for every guest or for all ages. All indoor performances scheduled at the Academy Center of the Arts normally take place as planned unless otherwise stated.
Parking is available on-site and throughout downtown Lynchburg. The parking map above shows all of the free public and paid parking available. In addition, street parking is also available on most streets.
Please note: If attending an event or performance after 5pm or on weekends, Lot 2 (Pacific Life Lot) and Lot 12 (Regional Business Alliance) are free and open to for public use. We suggest utilizing these lots, which are closest to the Academy Center of the Arts and within walking distance.
All ticket sales are final. There will be NO REFUNDS or exchanges for purchased tickets.
Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door. Our delivery methods are as follows:
Will Call: Tickets will be held at “will call” at the Box Office up to one hour before the show.
Print at Home: This option allows you to print your tickets at home or access them on a mobile device via email.
Regular Mail: For an additional fee, your tickets will be mailed to you ahead of the event.
Box Office Pick Up: You may stop by our Box Office, Monday through Thursday & Saturday from 10:00am – 4:00pm, or Friday 12:00pm – 8:00pm, and have us print your tickets for you.
Tickets held at “will call” that are not picked up by the beginning of the show may be re-sold at the discretion of the Box Office staff.
All tickets for this show will be sold through academycenter.org and our ticketing system. Please do not use third-party resellers, as we do not contract with them. Should you use a reseller, the Academy Center of the Arts will not be liable for any issues with your purchase.
All ticket sales are subject to a Historic Theatre Restoration Fee and credit/debit card processing fees.
