Academy Mask Policy – Fall 2021

 

Any student under the age of 18 will be required to wear a mask for the duration of their camp/class. For any participant age 18+, masks are highly recommended and encouraged regardless of vaccination status.

 


 

In this class, students will learn how to tell stories through video editing! Students will learn the basics of shooting, editing, compiling, and exporting videos using Adobe Premiere Rush – a free video editing software. Students will learn all they need in this class to be able to start making videos at home, school, or anywhere! Topics covered will include filming basics, camera settings, storytelling and basic editing. Editing and shooting will all be done on the Adobe Premiere Rush App for this class. Students will need their own smartphone or tablet that can run the free Adobe Premiere Rush app.

Instructor: Emma Traylor

Emma C. Traylor is an artist who works primarily with digital and film photography and ceramics. She earned her BFA from the University of North Texas majoring in Studio Art with a focus in Ceramics, and is currently working on her Masters of Fine Art with a 3D focus at Liberty University. Emma was born and raised in the DFW area in Texas and currently lives in Lynchburg, VA with her husband. Emma’s ceramic work is largely hand built life-sized figurative sculptures, but she also enjoys making unique functional pieces. Her photography focuses on the hidden special moments that go unseen in daily life.

CURRENT ACADEMY HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES 9/24/21

At the Academy Center of the Arts, the health and safety of our patrons, staff, performers, and volunteers is our priority. Like you, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 and its current impact on our community, and are following CDC guidelines and recommendations from local authorities and the Virginia Department of Health.


In response to current CDC recommendations, the requests of our performing artists, and to protect our community, everyone entering the Academy Center of the Arts’ facilities for Academy ticketed performances, classes, and gallery activities will be required to wear a face mask as of September 17, 2021.


– Guests must remain masked at all times, however, masks can be removed momentarily only when eating or drinking.

– Masks must fit snugly and cover the wearer’s nose and mouth.

– Masks will be readily available in our lobbies, galleries, and classrooms for patrons in need.
