Patricia Harrington, September Sky
Patricia Harrington: Essences of the Earth is a retrospective exhibition that celebrates the remarkable life and art of Patricia Bates Harrington (1924-2019). Comprised of ninety-one paintings from forty lenders, the exhibition brings together watercolors, oils, and acrylics to show Pat’s artistic evolution over a sixty-year career, the subjects that interested her, the people who influenced her, and the achievements she earned as a respected and nationally recognized painter.
The exhibition honors Pat for her extraordinary talent and accomplishments as an artist, and demonstrates that her deep passion for art was the impetus for her many philanthropic initiatives throughout the Lynchburg community in public education, health, and the arts. Ellen Schall Agnew serves as guest curator and author of a forthcoming catalogue of the exhibition.
