The Color of Life: A Family Tree
I often wonder about my African origins and the faces of the people in my extended family tree. Who were these people who came to America on ships? Who will remember their names and their stories? And what became of their descendants?
This exhibit serves as a personal challenge to create a family tree of people I will never meet and to honor those who will go faceless in history. I also aim to test the boundaries of using the color black for the subject of a portrait.
Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-5:00pm and Saturdays by appointment. Request an appointment here. All spaces are fully handicap accessible.
