We’re gearing up for another fun and BUSY summer at the Academy with all of our youth programming. There is one program in particular that I’m so excited about. I have loved the movie Tarzan for as long as I can remember because the music is phenomenal.
The Academy’s Encore Youth Theatre will begin camp on June 13th and for the next 4 weeks, learn the full-length production of Tarzan the stage musical. Tarzan will be zipping through the air while teens cast as gorillas jump on trampolines cleverly hidden in our ‘jungle’.
We’re so pleased to welcome Arnulfo Jacinto as a new set designer and scenic painter this summer. Arnulfo, aka “Arnold”, is a native of Santa Paula, California which is located about an hour north of Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Art and Designs with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
Arnold went on to work on set designs and became the airbrush supervisor for the motion picture “The Grinch That Stole Christmas”, and billboard campaigns such as “Godzilla”, “The Mask of Zorro”, “The Gap”, “The Chevrolet Corporation”, and “Wells Fargo”.
After marrying his high school sweetheart, Arnold moved to Lynchburg where he is working to obtain his master’s degree in secondary education at Liberty University. We’re excited to have him as part of our team and can’t wait to see his beautifully painted set. Be sure to grab your tickets to one of our three shows of Tarzan!
