Oil Paintings by Deliece Blanchard

“I am a landscape painter who loves nature, the color and viscosity of oil paint, and the mysterious communication that occurs through art. My first career was as a musician, and musical elements influence my paintings. The effect of certain colors side by side, together, create a vibration, or harmonic effect much like a chord progression which can move me emotionally, and I’m unable to explain it. Although the subject of my painting may reference the real world, I’m influenced by painters who have a distinctive painterly style of realism, eg. Van Gogh, Richard Diebenkorn, and Fairfield Porter.” – Deliece Blanchard

The Up Front Gallery
Black History Month Exhibit featuring Benita Mayo, Whitney West, and CT Woods

First Friday Musical Guest: Zaxai
Zaxai (ZA-K-EYE) one of NY’s eclectic artist. Born of Haitian decent, he credits his sound to his diverse, cultural up bringing. Captivating & intimate, are a few words to describe his voice & performances. It’s that which brought Zaxai to the Top 24 on season 15 of “NBC The Voice”. Both Kelly Clarkson & Jennifer Hudson fought over this young man to gain a spot on their teams. In the words of Jennifer Hudson “you’re a natural performer, you’re ready.” Those words couldn’t be more true as he continues to take the industry by storm. His roots may hail from Haiti but this performer sings in 4 languages. English, French, Creole, Spanish and a little bit of Russian, with almost 8 years of guitar as well. If he isn’t commanding the crowd online or in person, you can find Zaxai on set, behind a camera delivering more than lyrics. In July of 2020, Zaxai made is acting debut in Root level films “Where you are”.
