The Historic Academy Theatre
The Academy Center of the Arts campus is anchored by the Historic Academy of Music Theater, built in 1905. From the time it opened and well into the 1920s, the Academy of Music Theatre was the focal point for entertainment in Lynchburg. The restored theatre is accessible from Main Street, and includes seating for 834 patrons, a newly constructed lobby, and a new drive for easy drop-off and pick-up from Main Street.
This space is suitable for performances, fundraisers, meeting and corporate events, and weddings.
The Joy & Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre
The Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre is located at the corner of Fifth St. and Commerce Street, and is the home of the Academy Center of the Arts’ Box Office, the Warehouse Theatre space, art studio, and education classrooms. The lobby of the Warehouse Theatre also hosts the Arts and Education Gallery, with artwork that rotates monthly.
The building hosts a variety of events and rentals. The 5,000 square foot space seats up to 300 patrons in our risers, with the ability to create additional layouts for rentals and special events.
The Patricia Harrington Gallery and Members’ Lounge
The Patricia Harrington Gallery and Member’s Lounge is located on Main Street, and is the home of the Academy Center of the Arts’ Up Front Gallery, Ann White Academy Gallery, and staff offices. This space is accessible to the public from 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.
