  Academy Presents: Eight-time GRAMMY Award Winner Buddy Guy with Tom Hambridge   Tickets will be released to Academy Members on Thursday, January 23, 2019. All remaining tickets will be released to the public on Friday, January 31, 2019.     About the Show: [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzzebGOEpVQ]   The title of Buddy Guy's latest album says it all: The Blues Is Alive and Well. The legendary blues artist's eighteenth solo LP and follow-up to 2015's Born to Play Guitar showcases his raw and unadulterated sound, its fifteen tracks a true pleasure for aficionados and genre newcomers alike. "I got children and grandchildren who didn't know who I was, but nowadays we can play outdoor concerts and see kids that are eight, nine, twelve years old coming to me and saying, 'I didn't know who you was, but I read what Eric Clapton said about you,'" Guy explains when discussing his mindset around the new record. Compass Creative Dramatics: Wizard of Oz

Cost: $200 before April 6 | $225 after April 6 _________________________________________________ Students will go from auditions to performance in just five days with Compass Creative Dramatics, a Chicago-based touring theatre who will be hosting a week-long theatre residency at the Academy. Students in grades 1 – 12 will stretch their creativity and bravery muscles through daily rehearsals. Students also perform alongside two professional actors during the week and will participate in acting classes from those directors in the afternoon! No acting experience necessary – just come ready to be silly and have fun! This camp will be rehearsing and performing in our Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre. Students participating in this camp must be available the entire week and for both performances. _________________________________________________ ABOUT THE SHOW: After a terrible twister roars across the dusty fields of her beloved Kansas, accidental traveler Dorothy Gale finds herself immersed in an unlikely tangle of friends and foes on her way to meet the mysterious Wizard in the Emerald City.
