Explore the beauty of landscapes with our Beginning Acrylic Landscape Class Series, tailored for adults and perfect for beginners. This series meets once a week throughout September, offering a peaceful and creative escape. Whether you’re new to acrylic painting or looking to develop your skills, this class is for you. Our friendly instructor will guide you through the process of creating stunning landscape paintings, from the basics to more advanced techniques.

Here’s what you’ll learn:
• The essential materials and tools for acrylic painting
• Basic acrylic techniques and brushwork
• Color basics
• Step-by-step methods for painting different elements of landscapes (sky, water, trees, etc.)
• Tips for adding detail, depth, and perspective to your artwork

By the end of the series, you’ll have created a collection of beautiful landscape paintings and gained the confidence to continue your acrylic painting journey.

We’ll provide all the materials you need, but you’re welcome to bring along:
• Snacks and drinks
• Your favorite acrylic brushes or canvases if you have them
• A sketchbook or journal to record ideas, information, and inspiration

For High Schoolers interested in taking Beginner Acrylics, the following Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) are integrated into our Acrylic Landscape Painting Class in the Art Studio! These standards emphasize the creative process, skill development, and artistic evaluation. These tools are essential for fostering well-rounded and confident artists in our visual arts programs!
