HISTORY THAT DOESN’T SUCK

Time: January 10, 2026 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Venue: Historic Academy Theatre
Cost: $19 – $47

This isn’t your typical history lecture—it’s History That Doesn’t Suck with Professor Greg Jackson.

Adapted from his top-ranked podcast, Professor Jackson brings the first 100 years of American history to life in a thrilling 100-minute performance. With live music, multimedia, and dynamic storytelling, he weaves together the epic journey of a young nation—from the Revolution through the Civil War—as it fights, forms, defines, and redefines itself.

Dr. Jackson, a PhD historian and creator of the hit History That Doesn’t Suck® podcast (with millions of listens worldwide), is on a mission to make scholarly, non-partisan American history accessible, entertaining, and unforgettable. His engaging style has landed him as a frequent documentary commentator, including the HISTORY® Channel’s Abraham Lincoln series, executive produced by Doris Kearns Goodwin and featuring President Barack Obama.

Skip the classroom and step into a night of history the way it should be told—funny, powerful, and deeply human. The promise is in the title: this is history that doesn’t suck.
