The Exhibit
Russell Voelker, a Virginia-based artist, draws on a lifetime of creative experience shaped by his career in advertising, marketing, and art direction. After retiring, he embraced painting full-time, experimenting with styles that range from realism to surrealism and often blending nature, geometry, and imagination. “Sometimes my art is realistic, other times impressionistic, or even surreal,” Russ says. “I like to combine nature and geometry—it often takes the viewer on a journey.” His work reflects the breadth of his travels and life experiences, and the greatest reward, he notes, is “when people like it so much, they want to own it.”
