Join artist, Lauren Harris to create Whimsical Woodland Animals with oil pastels & watercolor.  We will be working with technique called “wax resist” as well as learning simple ways to draw the woodland character.  This project is designed for families to work together, any age to learn a new technique, but more importantly come join in the fun and learn how to use several mediums to create a great winter scene! Great for all ages.

Instructor: Lauren Harris

Altavista native, art teacher, and artist, Lauren Harris, holds a B.A. in Fine Art from Lynchburg College. Between teaching and chasing her two little boys (+ bulldog!), she can be found creating pet portraits and watercolor + ink paintings. For nine years, she has taught middle school and high school art, assisted in the design of the Altavista LOVE sign in 2019, and serves on the AOT Design Committee. This school year, she is transitioning to teaching online via Virtual Virginia and looks forward to teaching in person at The Academy.
