Instructor: Arnulfo Jacinto In this class, students will have the opportunity to express themselves through art while building upon the basic principles and foundations of drawing, including different grades of paper and pencils, light and shadow, and perspective. Because each student is unique, projects may be altered and one-on-one instruction will be given to suit each student’s skills, talents, knowledge, and interest level. All supplies included. Artist’s Bio: Arnulfo, aka “Arnold” or “Nuffy”, is a native of Santa Paula, California, which is located about an hour north of Los Angeles.  He has had multiple successes in both the athletic and art fields. He competed in the 1984 Olympics in Sprint Canoe Kayak and later went on to become a National coach at the Olympic Training Centers in Lake Placid, New York and San Diego, California.  After working as a firefighter for 7 years, he decided to return to school and graduated from the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Art and Designs with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.  Arnold went on to work on set designs and became the airbrush supervisor for the motion picture “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and billboard campaigns such as “Godzilla”, “The Mask…

Instructor: Arnulfo Jacinto This class is designed for beginner to advanced students who are seeking to express themselves through art while learning and building upon the basic principles and foundations of drawing, including grades of paper and pencils, light and shadow, and perspective. Basic life drawing and understanding of the human anatomy will be introduced by using wood figure models, photographs, and other reference materials. Students will work on drawing the skeletal and muscular structures of the human body and will gain an understanding of proportion, scale, and foreshortening.   Haunted Historic Theatre Tours Presented by Member One Credit Union and Watts Creative Studios     In 1911, the Historic Academy of Music Theatre was partially destroyed by a mysterious fire in the Manager’s apartment. Since then, the building just hasn’t felt the same. Join our staff and in-house paranormal team as we investigate the unexplainable happenings, murmurs, and ghosts that lurk in the wings during the month of October.   Every Wednesday in October, you can experience the chilling haunting of the Historic Theatre on our exclusive Haunted Theatre Tour!   Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra Presents: Beethoven @ 250     Join the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra in welcoming new Music Director David Glover as we kick off our two-season celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday with his immortal Symphony No. 5.   Written at a time of increasing deafness and personal turmoil for the great composer, this symphony expresses the capacity of the human spirit to overcome adversity. From the opening four-note “fate” motive, to the blazingly triumphant finale, Beethoven takes us on one of the most memorable musical journeys ever created.   Also showcased will be the talents of award winning pianist Stephen Beus who joins the orchestra for Beethoven’s dazzling Piano Concerto No. 5, Emperor.   Met Opera Broadcast in HD: Turandot     The Academy Center of the Arts has just announced the Metropolitan Opera HD Broadcast 19-20 season, featuring Puccini's Turandot on Saturday, 10/19 at 12:55pm in the Historic Academy of Music Theatre.   Two of opera’s most thrilling dramatic sopranos, Christine Goerke and Nina Stemme, reprise their fierce portrayals of the title princess.
