Free Clinic Benefit Show

Time: March 23 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Venue: The Music Hall @ 722 Commerce Street
Cost: $50

Jam out for a good cause! After a devastating fire, the Free Clinic of Central Virginia has been unable to see patients at its facilities in downtown Lynchburg. The Academy, Village Concerts, area musicians, and community volunteers have joined forces to support the Free Clinic and its vital mission of providing free healthcare to underinsured members of our community. Come spend a Sunday afternoon with friends and neighbors listening and dancing to originals, covers, and standards of folk, rock, jazz, and bluegrass. while supporting the Free Clinic!

David Sickmen is a founding member of The Hackensaw Boys, an internationally heralded string band whose music has been described as a “grassy tornado with brazen punk attitude.” Holcomb Rock Quartet’s acoustic sound of bluegrass, newgrass, and gypsy/swing captures the essence of western Virginia. Virginia singer/songwriter, Paddy Dougherty, performs a mix of jazz standards, commanding originals, and uplifting folk tunes, and spent time on the road as a backup singer for national bluesman, David Bromberg.  Singer-songwriter Chris Hammock draws inspiration from the sweat and grind of blue collar jobs, evening walks in the woods, and life’s experiences.
