ABOUT THIS CLASS

Move beyond automatic mode and begin making photographs with greater confidence and intention.

This beginner-friendly class introduces the essential tools and techniques used to create stronger images. Students will learn how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO work together, how to control focus and exposure, and how composition, light, and perspective influence the final photograph.

Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and practical assignments, students will become more comfortable using their camera and making creative decisions rather than relying on automatic settings. The course will also cover basic lens selection, depth of field, motion, natural light, and simple approaches to evaluating and improving your own photographs.

No prior photography experience is required. Students should bring a camera that allows manual control of exposure, along with the camera’s manual, a charged battery, and a memory card.
