Artist Statement 

“My work is a modern expression of landscape painting, rooted in the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Using impressionist brushwork, a softened palette, and luminous gold leaf, I explore the emotional resonance of place—how light, land, and memory entwine.

The mountains have long offered me both inspiration and refuge. Each painting begins with time spent outdoors—observing subtle shifts in color, shadow, and season. Back in the studio, I reimagine these scenes to capture not just what I saw, but how it felt: quiet, sacred, and alive. Gold leaf serves as a visual metaphor for this reverence—elevating sky, tree, or ridge line to something timeless and holy.

I create for those who are drawn to the outdoors and who seek artwork that brings a sense of calm, connection, and beauty into their daily lives. My hope is that each piece offers a moment of stillness, a breath of mountain air, and a renewed sense of wonder.”
