Academy Presents: Ink Fest
Join us this August at the Academy Center of the Arts for Ink Festival, featuring a special Education Open House designed for families, students, and lifelong learners of all ages and skill levels!
This unique opportunity invites guests to connect directly with Academy instructors, explore upcoming classes and programs, and learn more about educational offerings in visual arts, theatre, pottery, and community outreach. Whether planning for the school year or seeking creative opportunities, attendees can discover how the Academy supports artistic growth for all ages.
Ink Festival is a vibrant, one-day celebration of creativity centered around the power of ink. Hosted by the Academy Center of the Arts, this new festival brings together artists, writers, and makers to explore ink across disciplines in an engaging, community-focused experience.
Throughout the day, guests can experience four dynamic areas of programming:
- Ink-Based Visual Arts & Printmaking including large-scale steamroller printing and live demonstrations
- Books & Writers with readings, signings, and conversations with local and regional voices
- Children’s Programming & Education with hands-on art activities designed to inspire creativity in young learners
You can also enjoy panel discussions that bring together artists, writers, and creatives to explore storytelling, identity, and artistic expression through ink.
With local vendors, interactive experiences, and opportunities to connect with the creative community, Ink Festival is designed to be welcoming, inspiring, and accessible for all.

Camera Policy
Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.
Content Advisory
The Academy Center of the Arts offers a diverse selection of entertainment. Not all productions may appeal to or be appropriate for every guest or for all ages. Ticket buyers should take responsibility for making informed decisions regarding their purchases. We recommend visiting the official show website of each show you are coming to see at the Academy. Doors Open
Unless otherwise noted, our lobby doors open 60 minutes prior to show time and house doors open 30 minutes prior to show time for seating.
Parking & Directions
Parking is available on-site and throughout downtown Lynchburg. Our parking map (linked below) shows all of the free public and paid parking available. In addition, street parking is also available on most streets.
