ABOUT THE SHOW
Charlie Brown is feeling down despite the excitement of the Christmas season. Disturbed by the holiday’s growing commercialism and unable to share in his friends’ enthusiasm, he accepts Lucy’s suggestion that he direct the neighborhood Christmas pageant. Hoping to find something genuine, Charlie Brown chooses a small, scraggly Christmas tree for the production, but his friends ridicule his choice and his confidence falters.
As rehearsals continue, Charlie Brown struggles to understand what Christmas is really about. Finally, Linus explains the meaning of Christmas by reciting the Nativity story. Inspired by his words, the Peanuts gang comes together, transforms Charlie Brown’s little tree, and embraces the spirit of kindness, community, and hope. The show concludes with a joyful celebration of the season, often including audience sing-alongs of traditional Christmas carols.
The stage version is a faithful adaptation of the 1965 television special, featuring music by Vince Guaraldi and a script adapted for the stage by Eric Schaeffer.
Come join the fun and let your child discover the magic of theatre in a supportive and engaging environment!
