Noteworthy Music Challenge:
The Noteworthy Music Challenge Season 3 kicks off this Fall at the Academy Center of the Arts Music Hall, 722 Commerce Street, in downtown Lynchburg, VA with a series of Free Open Mic events every Monday beginning September 21st through October 19th with doors and sign-ups at 6 pm, open mic from 7-9 pm each night. Free for Performers and the Audience. Everyone is welcome to join us!
We will select 2 qualifiers from each open mic who will then move on to the Finale on Monday, October 26th where our panel of judges will select the Season 3 Winner! Contestants not selected for the Finale weekly are invited to come back and try again during the open mic qualifying rounds. Be prepared to play up to 3 songs (depending on how many performers join us each night) songs can be original or covers.
The Finale Winner selected October 26th will receive free studio recording time and mentoring sessions at Noteworthy Music in Bedford VA to record your next album, EP, demo, whatever you want to record. Plus, your music will be played in a regular rotation on Radio434, and you will have a concert of your own at Music Hall scheduled through and promoted by Radio434.
We will provide the stage, basic sound & lights- house PA, floor monitors, mics and inputs for instruments. Please bring your own instruments and cables. No drum kits. For the sake of all contestants, minimal load in is the rule of the day. If you use backing tracks, they must be emailed at least 24 hours in advance, mp3 or WAV files only. Camera Policy
Videography and audio recording during the performances are prohibited. Photography of the set on stage is allowed pre-show, post-show, and during intermission. But we do ask that you show our designers and visiting performers some love by crediting them (and by tagging us) in your social media posts.

Doors Open
Unless otherwise noted, our lobby doors open 60 minutes prior to show time and house doors open 30 minutes prior to show time for seating.
