Linear Perspectives
Linear Perspective is a way of drawing that enables the artist to create the illusion of 3D space on a 2D surface. This system was developed in the High Renaissance and is still used by artists today to organize objects in space.
In this class we will study mechanical perspective which uses guides to construct space. This enables the artist to draw 3D objects freehand. You will then feel confident to draw that curvy road that travels into a landscape or the teacup with saucer, not to mention the barn, the fencerow, the well and bucket.
We will also investigate aerial perspective that looks at how atmosphere affects depth and perception.
This is a great class for beginners or artists who wish to improve their ability to portray depth in drawings or paintings. This class is worthwhile and gratifying.
