Lynchburg VA center for arts, culture, and community building
Local Call is a 6-piece Alt rock band from Lynchburg, Virginia, formed in 2021. Drawing from a variety of musical backgrounds, they blend their varying musical talents into their own unique sound. The band started off primarily as a cover band but quickly learned the joys of writing and composing their own original music. They released their first full-length studio album, composed of all original songs titled “Some Days” in July 2024, and are currently recording their second studio album titled “Seasons”, slated for release in early 2025. While they have shifted more into the realm of original music, they still love rocking to their favorite covers that range from The Grateful Dead to Tom Petty to 90’s Alt Rock to Current Hits. They have played numerous jam-packed shows throughout Central Virginia including their most recent sold-out show at The Academy Center of the Art’s Music Hall.
Local Call is looking forward to returning to the Academy and playing their biggest show to date at the Academy Center of the Art’s Warehouse Theatre along with fellow artist Rebecca Porter from Harrisonburg, Virginia. Rebecca is an accomplished Country and Americana singer with 2 EPs of all-original music titled “Prime Rainbow Conditions” (2022) and “Queen of the Local” (2023) and is set to release even more original music in early 2025.
Local Call and Rebecca Porter are ready to put on a performance that you won’t want to miss!
