Lynchburg At War: The Home Front Documentary Film Premiere
Lynchburg at War is a powerful Civil War documentary, years in the making, which immerses audiences in the Hill City’s most uncertain hour. Brought to you by the Emmy Award–winning team behind Hunters Raid: The Battle for Lynchburg, this film continues their commitment to immersive, historically grounded storytelling.”
Filmed on location throughout Central Virginia – this film brings to life the human experiences of Lynchburg’s people during the Civil War through hundreds of actors, period music, and diary accounts. Lynchburg at War uncovers what Lynchburg endured during the war and after. It is the story of the courage, suffering, resilience, and change experienced by the City’s citizens, soldiers, enslaved and free Blacks.
Lynchburg at War explores how a community went from the brink of collapse to one of the fastest to recover and thrive in the South. This premiere is more than a screening, it is documentation of Lynchburg’s unique history, preserved for generations to come. Following the screening, guests are invited to remain for a live Q&A with select cast and crew. All proceeds benefit the preservation of Historic Sandusky. Cocktail attire please.
