Vroom with The Pale Moonlight
Vroom returns to the stage for the first time in over 20 years on October 7 at the Academy Center of the Arts in Lynchburg. Formed during the late ‘90s underground punk and emo scene, Vroom built a loyal following through heartfelt songwriting, energetic live shows, and four releases: Things Not to Do, Throws Like a Girl, A 5 Song Demonstration, and Rosebud. The reunion show will feature songs spanning the band’s entire catalog and marks a rare night of nostalgia, friendship, and unfinished noise from an era that helped shape the local music scene.
The band’s roots run deep in Lynchburg, with all members being alumni of Liberty University (2002 & 2003), and three members graduating from Liberty Christian Academy in 1997. Opening the night is The Pale Moonlight, featuring Conrad Tolosaof Ghoti Hook, a staple of the same era that influenced and intersected with Vroom’s journey. Tolosa also produced two of Vroom’s albums, making the evening feel less like a concert and more like a reunion of a musical community decades in the making.
