If you’re a current Perennial Member or you’re interested in renewing or joining at this level ($2,000+), the Academy Center of the Arts invites you to become a permanent part of the Historic Theatre. Perennial Members will have a very special and rare opportunity to add their names to Lynchburg’s most cherished theatre, by participating in the Perennial Seat Naming Campaign.

Your name (or a name of your choosing) will be engraved on a plaque attached to your selected seat, serving as a lasting tribute to your support of the arts in Lynchburg.

How to get your seat

If you’re a current Perennial Member–a Member who has supported the Academy in the last 12 months with a gift of $2,000 or more (Level 5 Member), you’re invited to secure and name a seat in our Premium, Standard, or Upper Balcony sections for an additional cost, as outlined below.

*Premium and Standard Naming opportunities only available to Level 6 Members; if you’re a current Level 5 Member and would like to unlock a named seat in either the Premium or Standard sections, an increase in Membership to Level 6 is required, in addition to the cost outlined below:

Premium Seating Opportunity (available only to current Level 6 Members)    $5,000

Standard Seating Opportunity (available only to current Level 6 Members)    $3,000

Upper Balcony Seating Opportunity (available to current Level 5 Members)  $1,000

The Academy Center of the Arts’ endowment has grown steadily since its inception, thanks to generous contributions from foundations, individuals, and corporations. By supporting our endowment, you’re helping to shape and secure the Academy’s future, creating a lasting legacy for the arts in our community. In addition to current Perennial Members, if you’ve made a gift of $10,000 or more to one of our Endowed funds, we invite you to name a seat in our theatre!

PERENNIAL SEAT NAMING CAMPAIGN FAQ

What do I receive when I name a seat?
a. Each gift is commemorated with a personalized nameplate with text of your choice on each seat purchased.

What will be on my nameplate?
a. Each personalized nameplate has space for __ lines with a maximum ______ characters per line. You may choose to place your own name, or, you may wish to honor someone. Actual plaque size is __ x __ in.

Where will my nameplate be placed?
a. Your nameplate will be placed on the arm of the chair, clearly visible to others.

May I choose the seat for my nameplate?
a. Yes! You may download our Perennial Seat Naming Campaign form, indicate your seat preference and the Academy team will attempt to honor all seat location requests

Will the seat I name become my seat for actual performances?
a. No. This campaign is a naming opportunity only and does not include tickets or seat assignments for performances or events. But, our Box Office team will do their very best when able!

What forms of payment are accepted?
a. Check and credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. Please contact our Development team for additional payment questions.

Can I purchase more than one seat?
a. Yes! Fill out an additional form with information for additional seats

What will my named seat help support?
a. All funds raised through our seat naming campaign will support our facilities fund.
