This class is designed for adult beginners (and beginner plus) Led artist and mentor Toby Penney, this series meets weekly throughout February and March. Each class provides a relaxed, creative environment where you can focus on building your skills and confidence.

This class is designed for beginners. However, artists who have taken Toby’s previous classes are encouraged to join and continue developing their talents. Toby offers personalized guidance, tailoring class material to fit each student’s goals and artistic growth.

What you’ll learn:

  • The essential materials and tools for acrylic painting
  • Basic acrylic techniques and brushwork
  • Color theory fundamentals
  • Step-by-step approaches to painting key landscape elements (sky, water, trees, etc.)
  • Tips for adding detail, depth, and perspective to your artwork

By the end of the series, you’ll have completed a collection landscape & natural element paintings and gained the skills to further your artistic practice.

We’ll provide all the materials you need, but feel free to bring along:

  • Snacks and drinks
  • Your favorite acrylic brushes or canvases
  • A sketchbook or journal for notes and inspiration

Instructor : Toby Penney

Instructor Bio :

Toby Penney is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in painting and printmaking. With a B.F.A. in Sculpture from Middle Tennessee State University and training at Internationally respected  Harvey K. Littleton Studios, she brings a wealth of technical skill and creative insight to her work. Penney has exhibited internationally in locations like France, England, Australia, and the U.S., and has been featured on the covers of Professional Artist Magazine and Hellbent Magazine. She also serves as an art instructor and mentor, fostering creativity in her community and beyond through her Roaming Studio program.
