Charlottesville Ballet Presents: Swan Lake

Time: March 20, 2027 @ 4:00 pm
Venue: Historic Academy Theatre
Cost: $14 – $100

Step into the enchanting world of Swan Lake, one of classical ballet’s most beloved and enduring masterpieces, as the Academy Center of the Arts’ Resident Dance Company, Charlottesville Ballet, performs on March 20!

This reimagining, staged by Director of Repertoire Caitlin Lennon, brings fresh artistry to the timeless tale of love, deception, and transformation. Prince Siegfried encounters the mysterious Odette, a beautiful young woman cursed to live as a swan by day and human by night. As the prince vows his devotion to her, the sorcerer Von Rothbart and his cunning daughter Odile threaten to destroy their love through betrayal and illusion. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, Swan Lake weaves together breathtaking choreography, sweeping romance, and unforgettable beauty in a story that has captivated audiences for generations.

This production is presented in two acts with one 15-minute intermission. Runtime is approximately 90 minutes.

“INTO THE WINGS” SPECIAL EVENT!

After the performance, join us onstage for a Magical Swan Lake Celebration!

Following Swan Lake, young guests and their families are invited to an exclusive onstage experience. Designed especially for children ages 3 to 10, this event includes the opportunity to meet cast members, take photos with your favorite Swan Lake characters, and learn a dance inspired by the ballet while standing on the very stage where the performance took place. Children are encouraged to dress in their finest attire, whether that is a party dress, a tiara, or their Sunday best, and become part of the magic of Swan Lake.

This is a special add-on event available only to performance ticket holders. Please add your performance ticket(s) to your cart first, then add this event ticket before completing your purchase. One event ticket is needed per child. Accompanying adults are free with their ticket to the performance.

The Swan Soireé
Join us after the performance for The Swan Soireé, an intimate post-performance celebration featuring wine, light bites, and the opportunity to mix and mingle with the dancers of Charlottesville Ballet.
Raise a glass, meet the artists who brought Swan Lake to life, and enjoy a special evening together beyond the stage.
