Academy Mask Policy – Winter 2022 *updated Jan 5, 2022
Due to the rise in Covid cases in our area, the Academy Center of the Arts requires that all students participating in our classes regardless of vaccination status wear a mask while on our campus. All staff are required to wear masks while on site regardless of vaccination status.
Go ahead and get a little dirty on Friday night! Couples, singles, and friends are welcome to join us at The Academy Center of the Arts Pottery Studio for an evening of fun and wheel throwing. Have something to remember your special pottery night for many years!
Clay and tools are included. Wear or bring clothes to change into that you don’t mind getting dirty. Pre-registration is required. Please register online, but if you have any additional questions contact Ted Batt at [email protected] or 434-528-3256 x127 for more information. The $40 fee is per person and the event is for adults ages 18 and over.
Instructor: Anna Ellis
Anna is a Lynchburg native who has always had a passion for the arts. She studied at VCU in Richmond Virginia. However it wasn’t until 2009 that she took a pottery class at CVCC, and fell in love with the medium. After taking what was offered at community college, she made her way down to the Academy. Encouraged greatly by teacher May Carter she started teaching children’s classes in 2011, after several years moved on to teaching adult classes and workshops. Her work has always been inspired by her love of animals, particularly farm animals. Her work has been in the National Juried Art Exhibition at the Academy and has won awards at the Bath County Art Festival.
