Welcome to an evocative exploration of place and memory through the eyes of two lifelong friends and artists, Natasha McConnachie and Lindsay Michie. Their shared history, marked by years of collaboration and mutual inspiration, unfolds in this exhibition, reflecting their diverse travels across South Africa, Europe, Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Natasha McConnachie, a dedicated high school art teacher and visual artist, brings a touch of the abstract expressionist tradition to her work. Influenced by her studies at the New York Studio School under the mentorship of Mercedes Matter, Natasha’s paintings resonate with emotional depth and vibrant expressiveness. Her art, shaped by a childhood spent in a bustling family environment, continues to serve as both a refuge and a means to connect deeply with her surroundings.

Lindsay Michie, a history professor and passionate painter, channels her artistic spirit through vibrant oil paintings. Guided by the teachings of her mentor, Bill Mangum, Lindsay’s work is characterized by a rich use of color and dynamic textures. Her paintings capture the essence of places and memories, offering viewers a glimpse into the thrilling and sometimes challenging experiences that have shaped her creative journey.

Together, Natasha and Lindsay invite you to experience their shared artistic voyage, celebrating the profound impact of travel and friendship on their creative expressions.
