Isaac J. Williams Trio

Time: February 14 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Venue: The Music Hall @ 722 Commerce Street
Cost: $20 – $23
Isaac J. Williams, a native of Lynchburg, got his start in music at the age of 8 when his father brought him a light-up keyboard. This would ultimately lay the foundation for his love for melodies and improvisation. Isaac would have an opportunity to explore music further under the tutelage of acclaimed musicians Lew Taylor, Barbra Elliot, and Judy Shultz. Guided by his mentor and fervent supporter, Jane White, he’d go on to play his first venue at the Academy Center of the Arts, exposing him to the possibilities of performance and community outreach.

Isaac’s passion for music and the support from his community would drive Isaac to pursue higher education at Shenandoah University, where he would study Jazz and film. Here, Isaac would garner his skills working with combos and the Shenandoah University Big Band, exposing him to the sounds of swing and blues. Those would prove influential, as they are a staple in his approach to music today.
