The Academy Center of the Arts proudly announces the 10th anniversary of the Hill City Keys program. Founded by Libby Fitzgerald, this initiative has transformed downtown Lynchburg into an interactive public art space with beautifully painted pianos by local artists, both students and professionals.

To mark a decade of music and community, the celebration begins on First Friday, June 7, at 5:30 PM. We encourage everyone to join the fun online by sharing photos and videos playing the pianos this summer using the hashtag #HillCityKeys10. Piano players for this special celebration include Isaac Williams, Bryce, Rae Morykon, Rachel Robert, Telly Tucker (Musical Director of “Juneteenth: Freedom’s Song”), and more.

The Academy is also hosting a scavenger hunt! Post photos or videos of yourself at 5 of the pianos with the hashtag #HillCityKeys10, or upload them here, for a chance to win a prize!

As a perfect blend of visual and performing arts, Hill City Keys enlivens our urban environment, invites community engagement, and inspires artistic expression. Explore downtown, enjoy live piano performances, and be part of the music that brings our community together.
